i. Provision of foreign exchange: When Nigerian farmers sell their cash crops like cocoa,
groundnut, cotton, rubber, hides, and skins to other countries; they are paid in foreign
ii. Provision of income to government: Government collect taxes from the farmers, agro-based
industries, foresters, etc. It serves as a source of revenue for the government.
iii. Provision of tourist attractions: The game reserve, zoological garden (i.e. a place reserved by
the government for keeping different types of animals) and botanical garden (i.e. a place set
aside for different types of plant) serve as tourist centers to foreigners.
